  does anyone have the answer?

  i was brought up in "the truth", i have the odd bible study now and again, funny enough the last time was a week after 9/11, as im still subconsciously in fear of armageddon, but i haven fundamental problems with some of their teaching, hence my joy at finding this site.

  i also used to think armageddon was coming at the sight of the smallest storm.

  has anybody found what they think is "the truth" since coming away?.

  Sometimes the only truth I know of...we all die. Now on the surface while some might consider that a negative statement, it's about the only real truth I acknowledge...other than coming to grips with how humanity has been lied to since man figured out a way of "controlling" the masses.

  Truth - accepting and being 'true' to oneself makes the difference.

  Those 'Mean' JW's

  remember when elders took pride in dfing someone - like they got a notch on their judgmental belt of righteousness?.

  remember when parents would brag about kicking their kids out if they did want to serve jah or if the kid got dfd and the father didnt want to lose his position in the k-hall and threw the kid out?.

  remember when catastrophes would happen to other people/nations and jws would laugh about it and consider it just part of the last days?.

  I was df at age 19. Never was that happy as a JW. To young and detached from life in general to know, much less care what went on behind the scenes. Of course there were things that happened that didn't sit right with me, but back then it was difficult to put into perspective.

  LOTS of years later when finding myself in recovery for alcoholism no one could have been more shocked than myself when the religious abuse issues came flooding to the surface. All the phoney bullshit, judgemental attitutes and speech directed towards EVERYONE not a JW/the cliques/the politics...you name it - is not indicitive of a healthy mind, period.

  Now I've worked the low self-esteem angle for some time, but the older I get the less that holds any weight for me. At what point and time does the individual think some introspection might be wise? So for those content JW's there is absolutely no reason why they should consider introspection because - we know the mentality of the "right man." JW's are masters at blaming everything and everyone around them...their right- everyone in the world is wrong. What f--king bullshit!

  I no longer defend their person as in; "most are nice, just misguided." And as one wrote about other churches - just another reminder of why I hold little respect for Chrisitianity as a whole. Too many hypocrites, period. Is it really any wonder some people dispise JW's...and why should they be excused,eh. I don't even consider them martyer's. They haven't done a damn thing too enhance the quality of life within their given community. OH. They don't get into trouble with the law, blah,blah. Well, hell's bell's, neither have a great majority of humanity that doesn't go through life with some fool idea of how friggen special they are........no love lost on JW's this day. Be it family or not. Hey, even more so as their sickness is publicly exposed. Screw em. Don't like em, don't have to.

  Kids, Microchips and Democracy.

  it seems many parents in the uk are looking into the possibilty of having their children "chipped" with a hidden implant so's they can be traced should they be abducted.

  this follows in the wake of the horrific double murder of holly and jessica, the 2 cambridgeshire girls who were brutally killed a few weeks ago.. the saudi ambassador to great britain, ghazi algosaibi, said: "if you had a democracy in britain, you would have the death penalty tomorrow, especially after the death of those two girls".. maybe he has a point.. englishman.

  While on the surface "chipping" may seem like the way to go, I'd give serious consideration to possible negative ramifications of such. But then I'm one of those individuals that trust very little put out by the government...the concept of "chipping" for any reason sounds more like New World Order to me. Sorta like giving up gun's for sake of combating terrorism...yeah, right.

  I'd image there will be plenty of people though who will chant their mantra about this novel way in which we can safeguard our children. The irony...like "save the children" at Waco; just before they were torched. It's absolutely shameful how government uses our precious children for pushing their globalization agenda. Naw, no chipping for this family. Good post. Thanks.

  I don't always respond to posts such as yours...it just pisses me off.

  Thank goodness there are people who have compassion and understanding...sure as hell ain't jw's.

  Years ago when living in Alabama, I had opportunity for a job interview that took place with a JW. In the end I was the one who was "blessed." Declined the job, thank you very much, but after 20 minutes with that lady (3rd generation jw) it became apparent that the help she needed would never come from her own religion. I doubt that lady could understand where I was coming from...that it is everyone they condemn who are actually active in serving the community. And I told her so.

  While the circumstances were/are heartbreaking...it takes what it takes too get our attention focused upon the good of people...and that would generally exclude "god's chosen." It's sick, sick, sick!

  Upcoming Holidays- Celebrating in Secret

  i do, but i have to be so careful, incase any jw family would happen to drop by.

  Although I do not "believe" in the reason for Christmas...it's one of my favorite holidays. How can ya just not love all the lights and wonderful decorations, eh. Any holiday is a great time for sharing...and hubby and I, usually at Thanksgiving, invite those who are alone for whatever reason. Christmas is reserved for the grandchildren.

  At any rate do enjoy the holiday season...and try your best not to invite guilt. It just isn't worth the mental anguish one might experience whilst simply attempting to enjoy life. That's a foreign word to Jw's - enjoyment for enjoyment sake.

  Happy Holidays!!!!!!! Done any Christmas shopping yet?

  How Much is Shunning Worth?

  my jw niece called me last night on the phone.

  she is having a pampered chef party (for those of you who don't know what these are, it's like a tupperware party except they cook a meal and sell the cooking stuff).

  it is going to be at my jw sister's house and all the dubs will be there....including my "best" friend who ratted me out to my sister regarding us celebrating christmas last year.. i am not invited....but my niece would like me to buy some stuff and to make up for shunning me she is offering to give me her hostess discount....woohoo huh?.

  What struck a note with me was your commet regarding revisionist historians "who don't understand or care about accurate history." Are you suggesting (and please, I'm not interested in a flame war, just curious) that anyone who does not swallow the popular party line is disinterested in truth?

  Why is it almost criminal too discuss the Myth of Six Million...or question the workings of Zionism? And please, don't try and tell me that there is freedom of speech in the good ol' USA...Too many lives are put in harms way when even suggesting that what we have been taught to believe, might just be a pack of lies in order to further the New World Order agenda.

  Personally I have more respect for Revisionist Historians who dare question status quo; I mean, who wants both sides of the story placed in the open for honest investigation and discussion, hey. We might have to change our belief system.

  my doubts came when i finally got the nerve to leave a bad marriage, why did i stay so long.

  because i was ashamed and really scared of what "jehovah" would think of me.

  I have nothing "nice and good" to say about that filthy religion...and certainly commend any who make a conscious choice to exit.

  Having been raised in that religion, and df at age 19, I was one of those that allowed the Jw fear tactics to keep me in mental bondage for many years after the fact. This is the one thing I try and express to any newbies...do your best to cleanse your thinking of such vile teachings. Many have already posted some positive suggestions on how you might best deal with the emotional fallout that usually follows.

  At any rate, welcome to any and all newcomers.

  Arab Oil & USA

  contrary to some beliefs, neither the usa nor european nations forcibly takes oil from the arabs.

  rather, the arabs wanted to sell their oil because it is about the only natural resource that they have to make a lot of money and improve their lot in life.

  for example, saudi arabia invited american companies in, such as bechtel corporation ( i used to work for them in their power division) ... and made contracts with private businesses to build cities, oil pumping rigs, transportation systems, and the infrastructure to deliver the oil to the world market ... a market that europe and the americas tap into to buy oil.
